Ingredients for Kaddu ki kheer hyderabadi style - Sorakaya Halwa:

1. Tender Bottle gourd - 1 cup grated
2. Milk - 2 cups (Full cream milk is preferred)
3. Ghee - 4 to 5 tsps
4. Sugar - 3/4 cup
5. Water - 1 cup
6. Almonds - 10 (finely chopped)
7. Raisins - 10
8. Melon Seeds - 1 tsp
9. Cashews - 10
10. Condensed Milk - 2 tbsps (Optional)
11. Green Food Colour - A Pinch (Optional)

How to make kaddu ki kheer in hyderabadi style

1. Wash, peel and grate tender bottle gourd
2. Heat ghee in a pan, add raisins, cashews, melon seeds and chopped almonds till nice
aroma comes
3. Dish out the nuts and add grated bottle gourd in the leftover ghee
4. Fry it till nice aroma comes, grated bottle gourd becomes transparant and turns soft
5. Now add boiled full cream milk, water and cook for 5 to 10 minutes
6. Grated bottle gourd becomes soft and milk thickens a little
7. Now add sugar and condensed milk and cook for 2 more minutes
8. Add fried nuts give a mix and switch off the flame
